Pontedilegno is a village located in the north of Valle Camonica within the protected natural areas of the National Park of Stelvio and the Regional Park of the Adamello, where the province of Brescia borders on the one of Trento. The landscapes of the upper Valle Camonica are amazing: mountains rich in history, huge glaciers, multi-centenary trees and wide pastures. This is the environmental setting of our ski areas! Starting from the Presena Glacier situated at 3000 metres above sea level, down to the sunny ski runs of Passo Tonale (1800m) and, through the "Pegrà"slope, to the wonderful ski area in the woods of Pontedilegno/Temù. The slopes, equipped with modern ski lifts, fulfill the needs and wishes of any kind of skiers: from skilled ones to beginners. The Adamello Ski Area has been well known not only for the training of Italian and foreign champions, but also for the easy access to the various broad ski runs: it is a paradise for both children and beginners! This white world is the place where our school has been professionally working for a long time!

The ski history of Pontedilegno has developed together with its social and economical one: the two tragic world wars, the reconstruction and the economical development. A very important moment in the growh of Pontedilegno was the recognition as "First winter resort for the season 1911/12" given to the village by the Italian Touring Club. The good and appreciated organization of many sport events was the reason why Pontedilegno was considered the "pearl" of the ski resorts of the time. But we do not have to forget the great contribution given to the resort by the athlets of the local SKI CLUB, founded in 1911. They were winners in all the different ski competitions so to gain the nickname of "Red Devils".

In 1924 a new springboard was opened, the only one entirely built on a natural slope. Thanks to it, Pontedilegno was famed across Europe and a lot of international ski jumping competitions were organized and attended by thousands of funs, quite an extrordinary event for the time! The first ski lifts were built around the 40s: the most important one was the Corno d'Aolo chair lift in 1949. From 1963 on, the resort has seen the birth of new lifts and hotels starting from the Paradiso cable lift to the new cablecar connecting Pontedilegno with Passo Tonale opened this December 2006.

The ski school Pontedilegno-Tonale was founded in the first 60s by few brave ski instructors who gave the opportunity to us today to work in a well organized and professional school, strongly connected with the local area. From those early times our ski instructors has followed the evolution of the newest techniques, ski lifts technologies and ski equipment and they are proud to have today a vanguard training in lesson organization and teaching. In the 90s the new trand became snowboarding, fascinating sport and expression of a new youth culture, and as a consequence our ski school evolved in a ski and snowboard school!

Today Adriano Cattaneo is the school director. He skilly coordinates 60 instructors in our head office in Pontedilegno (pedestrian area), but also in our other offices near the most important lifts: Campetto ski area, Passo Tonale, new Temù ski area. Our ski and snowboard activities start on the Presena Glacier in autumn with individual and group lessons. The ski season goes on until May and June with the wonderful spring-summer skiing! Our offers are various and can satisfy all the needs and wishes of the most exigent tourists, but also consider the costumers of any age and level coming up from the valley with midweek courses.
